Weekend Encounters offer an intensive, personalized experience to people struggling to live fruitful lives. People struggling with destructive thought and behavior patterns, broken relationships, physical illness, depression, anxiety, emotions that seem overwhelming, or minds that won't stop racing often feel that their lives are fruitless or that they are trapped in a wilderness. When these circumstances develop, life can seem totally chaotic and we tend to lose our connection with our spirituality.
Other retreats focus mostly on the physical, including relaxation, recreation, exercise, and massage. While healing in nature, Seeds of Grace Encounters are different in that we focus on the "heart" and spirituality, and the Encounters are designed to encourage personal spiritual growth as well as healing. The Encounters offer a place in which your heart and spirit can deal with doubts, memories, fears, and hurts which need spiritual healing. The Encounters lead to freedom, forgiveness, and healing--spiritual, emotional, and physical. We are told that the retreats are transformational; changing distorted concepts of God, ourselves, and our purpose in life.
Encounters are offered for both individuals and married couples. The Encounters are custom-designed especially for you, using the information you provide in the Spiritual Inventory, taking into consideration your personal spirituality, history, unique needs, and desires. Your personalized encounter will consist of a series of private, individual sessions with Mark and/or Charleen, interspersed with times of personal rest, meditation, wonderful recreational opportunities, and good food.
Generally, the Encounters begin on Friday evening and conclude on Sunday afternoon. Although the Encounters offer intenisve times of ministry, adequate time is also scheduled for relaxation and reflection. Those desiring to attend an Encounter are asked to complete a Spiritual Inventory and Hold Harmless Agreement as part of the application process. There is no charge for the ministry involved during a Weekend Encounter. However, unless other arrangements have been made, the off-season Emerald Bay Bed and Breakfast rate of $60.00/night will apply. Donations for the Seeds of Grace ministry are also encouraged.
